Me.
My working foundation with animals started with my first job as a teenager at the local Humane Society in the ninety’s. Ten years later, additional experience included a Veterinary Assistant Certification, work in wildlife rehabilitation, cruelty investigation, animal research, and at a veterinary clinic. Whelping rescued dogs and cats and bottle-feeding just about every common mammal available was excellent preparation for being a devoted dog breeder.
I got my first Irish Water Spaniel in 2005 after years of contemplating what exactly was the right breed for me. Twenty years later, it seems I was right?
Raw fed, locally sourced whenever possible.
I’ve been feeding all my domestic animals Bones and Raw Foods (BARF) diets for over twenty years. While I encourage all puppy buyers to explore the idea, I would never recommend the lifestyle to others without significant research and commitment. It is not a cheap nor easy way to feed your animals, just like deciding to go exclusively local, organic, or homemade! Be that as it may, my animals thrive on raw meat and bones, green leafy vegetables, and the occasional steel-cut oats.
If you feed kibble, I currently recommend Inukshuk Marine 16, which does not contain chicken, corn, wheat, or soy. I use this food exclusively for training and train/air travel.
“Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, " This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in; fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well! It must have been made to have me in it!”
